What are Raw Access Logs
Raw Access Logs show each individual action that occurs when clients are viewing your web site. They contain a lot of information about who is accessing your site and what they are accessing. Don't worry if the content in this log is a bit hard to stomach, there are plenty of statistics programs under Web/FTP Stats to help show this information in a way that is easier to digest.
An Example Log Entry
66.77.88.99 - - [13/Jun/2000:12:15:01 -0500] "GET /img/navbar.jpg HTTP/1.1" 304 - "http://www.domain.com/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4"
This entry shows a client from 66.77.88.99 accessing the file navbar.jpg in the /img/ directory of http://www.domain.com on June 13th, 2000 at 12:15:01.We can also see that they are using Firefox 1.5.0.4 on Windows to access the image.
Don't worry about reading through each line of this log, we'll use a statistics generator such as Analog to view the information in a way that is easier to understand.
Configuring Log Archives
You can choose to archive your raw access logs into your home directory each month. This will save an archive of your log information. You can also choose to delete the logs after they have been saved for 1 month by checking the box next to Remove the previous...
Note:
Saving logs will take up disk space and count towards your disk space quota.
Archived Logs
Your archive logs will be available for download. These logs include your http access logs and can also include ftp access logs and ssl access logs.
