What is a Backup
The Backup page allows you to backup different aspects of your site. This means that you can download a zipped version of some or all of the files contained in your web site so that they can be restored later.
Why Should I Backup?
There are many reasons why one should backup their site. Data can become corrupted, computers can fail, a natural disaster could wipe out the facility that your site is stored in. All of these reasons and many others should influence your choice to backup your files. Even if you pay for your site to be backed up, it is a good idea to keep your own backups.
Types of Backups
There are four main types of backups that you can perform:
Full Backup - A full backup will create an archive of your entire site. This includes all the files in your home directory, any MySQL databases you have, and any
Home Directory - A home directory backup will create an archive of all the files in your home directory. This includes all the files that are a part of your site, even if they are not in your public_html directory.
MySQL Databases - A MySQL database backupwill create an archive off all MySQL databases you own. These databases are used to store information for things such as bulletin boards, image galleries, etc.
Email Domain Forwarder - An Email Domain Forwarder will backup your email domain forwarders that you have created.
Email Filters - An Email Filter backup will backup your incoming mail filters that you have created.
